Fluoride induces endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in ameloblasts, which is responsible for enamel mineralization disorder. Fluoride induces autophagy in ameloblasts, but the molecular mechanisms through which ameloblasts respond to fluoride-induced cellular stress and autophagy remain unclear.
